Every android user must be known with word "ROM". Thats because android sometimes need upgrade to get better performance. Unfortunately, some of android user is so smart, they even make any mod in their smartphone which react to samsung developer. Because of that, i think samsung didn't allow any modded ROM to update automatically from setting.
I am as a android user who always mod my ROM feel its unfair if we must do factory reset before upgrading. So i look for a site that provide any ROM to get upgrade manually without any reset.
